Day 35

Second Home Holland Park / Selgascano

Hello, maniacs,
go get some sleep.

Today's project was supposed to be an interior design project, in which I was supposed to study the principles the architects followed to renovate an old building. but no that is not how the research process works doesn't it.

Let's me tell why I'm writing this at 4 am

The picture down belongs to a renovated workstation project that belongs to Second-home company, a company that provides studio and office spaces for creatives and entrepreneurs.

The plot twist is this site held different creative events through history, A photographer studio in 1960, a filming studio in 1966, an architect office in 1980, and a co-work place in 2017. This timetable made me think of Aldo Rossi's definition of what is permanent? as he claims that certain sites and their buildings create a "locus" that is unique in the city and should be recognized as such. So the question that popped in my mind is that as this building always held in creative spaces does it make it permanent?
Well, It's 4 am I can't figure the answer :')

So you thought I stopped here, NO, I wanted to see the building old situation, which pushed me to watch Michelangelo's Blow up a movie that was shot here. After watching the movie my perspective changed. At first, I really thought that this renovation was good but now I think It looks as if Sully from Monster threw up in the space.

A message for future me: you start bullying architects at 4 am, be careful.

Day 9

Friendship Hospital Satkhira / Kashef Chowdhury/URBANA hello people, First, let give ArchDaily a thanks note for their featured building today. After hopeless days finally, today's building is interested. It was my first time reading about a building in Bangladesh. Finding this beautiful hospital in a rural area has raised a small hope inside me.  Z. note : Today I tried an alternative method in reading the project, I tried to find the principles behind the structure, developing principles that are related to the context of the site and the function of the building could be really critical, but,  you know,  that is the fun part of the design process.  Z. note:  I used a more diagrammatic representation method today. Although I really enjoyed you guys my ghost army and although I started this blog for myself. The need for people's approval is pushing me to promote this blog by opening an Instagram page. Well, let's get into the project. The 8 bedrooms hospital si...

Day 8

Whitney Museum / Marcel Breuer Hello guys, Today I was so busy, designing a fence for a rich Arab, therefore I wasn't able to start yet, but I have already chosen the topic earlier this day, so let's see what can we produce at this hour.  Since I was a kid I never liked museums. The exhibited elements always made me feel sad, maybe because I come from a background of a group of people crying on the glories of the past, which subconsciously made me hate anything that reminds me of the past. Well, we will never know. Earlier this day, I was attending an online lecture about the center Pompidou, the professor reflected how in this museum the exhibited elements are not tangible stuff, but It was the different kinds of activities, events, and people that were brought together from different spaces in the city. Here we see a spectacle of the mass and their daily lives. What affected me here that the museum is not necessarily a closed envelope of lost moments, but more a part of our ...

Project 71 - The Floating Church

The Floating Church / Denizen Works ➨  Function : Church ➨  Location:  London, England ➨  Area:  45 m2 Hello sad people Don't lose your hope.  Today's project is a little different, It doesn't have a site but a mission, It's a boat that aims to connect community centers along the canal, every 5 years the boat will change its site and will sail in front of one of the 5 community centers that take place along the canal. The boat interior was designed in a way to adopt different events such as a church, art classes, and live music events. Most of the interior's details and cladding materials were inspired by the sail's stitching.  References:  Archdaily Enable Ginger Cannot connect to Ginger Check your internet connection or reload the browser Disable in this text field Edit Edit in Ginger Edit in Ginger × Enable Ginger Cannot connect to Ginger Check your internet connection or reload the browser Disable in this text field Rephrase Rephrase curre...
