Hello, multitaskers,
how is your mental state :')
Today is the second day of the 60-minute challenge, I will start the timer soon, In today's blog, I will read about the Machiya traditional townhouses.
Let's start, 3 2 1 go
Well, I have only 5 minutes to explain the results of my small research. Machiya townhouse first appeared in the 17th century in Kyoto, It was a combination of residence and workspace for the merchant class, It's an example of integrating urban life and commerce.
The long narrow mass that contains a shop in the front and living space in the rear has many characteristic properties such as
1- Interior garden that separates the workspace and living space
2- Two sidewalls without windows that create a warmth darkness
3- Minimum appearance in the facade and layers of screenings and
curated openings
4- Minimum of 1.5 story and Maximum of 3 stories
5- Seamless space with minimum walls
6- Living rooms that are composed of divided rooms with raised
timber floors
7- More to be written, of course
* After reading about the Machiya townhouse, I tried to re-read yesterday's project and represent my findings in the gif.
