Hello Toqa,
Thanks for your suggestion.
Today my friend sent me a project that has been around on Instagram lately, It was a beautiful picture of a mid-high skyscraper standing out with Its untraditional facade design. As the building takes place in Japan where they take the design codes strictly, It was really hard to follow all the decisions and the principles that were innovated to match the codes.
Well let's get into the project
The project takes place in Shinbashi district, a district that was known for Its Business and commercial events since the 19th century. In this project, the architect has taken an action to respond to the urban challenges the district is facing, One of them was the replacement of mid-multi-story buildings and the relationship this building creates with its surroundings.
The architects respond to the relation this building creates with its surrounding through stairs and balconies that were placed at the facade. these elements are changing the game of how we see office buildings, where our image will no more be glazed curtains but will be humans activities.
Along with being design elements, the stairs and balconies are playing a role in the structural system and shading system, they were used as bracing members and sunshades too.
