Hello people,
Hope you're doing great.
On the recommendation of one of my friends to watch the projects in the Netflix series; The world's most extraordinary homes, I decided to start analyzing the projects the series represents. Starting from the episode that was shot in Japan.
The project takes place in a coastal area that is known for its fish wealth, the land belongs to a fisherman that wanted to design a house for his family, the site is challenging because settles in a sloped area surrounded by trees.
The solution that the architects found was to raise the building above the ground using timber pillars and to design in respect to the surrounded tree V-shaped building. the house was described as a combination between cottages design and Japanese craft. A lot of the details like the sun shading elements and interior walkways were inspired by the traditional house design.
